Give OpenClaw or Hermes Agent your health data, read-only

Connect the AI agent you run yourself to Voke with one command, approve it on your phone, and let it work from your real sleep, heart rate and workouts.

An AI agent that already lives in your Telegram or Discord can do a lot more when it knows how you slept. Ask it at breakfast whether today is a day to push or rest, and it can look at last night, your resting heart rate and yesterday’s run before it answers.

OpenClaw and Hermes Agent are agents you run on your own computer. Both can connect to Voke with one command and read your Apple Health and Fitbit data, without being able to change any of it. Here’s how to set them up, and how to keep them in check.

What your agent can do with it

Voke gives your agent read-only tools for your daily scores and summaries, your sleep and workouts, your heart rate by the minute, and which devices last synced. That’s enough for things like:

  • “Each morning, tell me how I slept and whether my resting heart rate is up.”
  • “Before my long run on Saturday, check how the week’s sleep has gone.”
  • “Tell me if my watch hasn’t synced since yesterday.”
  • “Which of my nights this month were shortest, and what did I do the day before?”

Hermes Agent can run tasks on a schedule (Nous Research), so a morning check like the first one can arrive on its own.

Before you start

You’ll need:

  • Voke on your iPhone, with Apple Health or Google Health connected under Sources, and “Use AI features” turned on in your account.
  • OpenClaw or Hermes Agent installed on a computer you control, with a terminal open on it.
  • Your phone nearby to approve the connection.

In Voke, open the AI tab, tap the settings button, and choose OpenClaw or Hermes Agent under AI apps. Voke shows a command to copy, already filled in with Voke’s address.

Connect OpenClaw

On the computer running OpenClaw, paste the command from Voke into a terminal:

openclaw mcp add voke --url https://mcp.voke.co/mcp --transport streamable-http --auth oauth && openclaw mcp login voke

The first part adds Voke as an MCP server. The second starts the sign-in, which opens a Voke page in your browser. If OpenClaw runs on a computer without a browser, it gives you a link to open elsewhere and a code to pass back with openclaw mcp login voke --code (OpenClaw).

The steps Voke shows for OpenClaw, with the command ready to copy.

Connect Hermes Agent

On the computer running Hermes Agent, paste the command from Voke into a terminal:

hermes mcp add voke --url https://mcp.voke.co/mcp --auth oauth && hermes mcp login voke

The sign-in opens a Voke page in your browser. Hermes keeps the key it gets in its own folder, readable only by your user account, and Voke’s tools are ready straight away, without a restart (Nous Research).

Approve on your phone

The Voke page shows a QR code and a 6-letter code. Scan the QR code with your iPhone camera, or tap Enter a code in Voke and type it in. Voke shows a switch for each kind of data your agent asked for. Turn off anything it doesn’t need, then tap Allow.

Then send your agent the first message from Voke’s steps. It asks for a plain summary of your day, so you can see the connection works.

Using Claude Code, VS Code or Cursor instead

Choose Developer tools under AI apps. Voke has install links for VS Code and Cursor, and a command for Claude Code:

claude mcp add --transport http --scope user voke https://mcp.voke.co/mcp

Then run /mcp in Claude Code and sign in to Voke from there (Anthropic). The same approval on your phone follows.

Keeping an agent in check

Agents act on their own, so it’s worth knowing where the limits are:

  • Read-only, always. Your agent can’t add, change or delete anything in Voke, however it’s prompted.
  • Only what you switched on. If it only needs sleep, approve only sleep. You can connect again later with more.
  • Its key stays on your computer. OpenClaw and Hermes Agent both store the sign-in on the machine they run on (OpenClaw, Nous Research). Your agent never sees your Voke password.
  • Your data goes to the model you chose. Whatever your agent reads is sent to the AI model behind it, so that provider’s terms apply.
  • Every read is logged in Voke: which app, which kinds of data, and whose.

The full picture of what any connected AI can see is in use any AI assistant with your health data, safely.

How to disconnect

  • In Voke, open AI apps and tap Disconnect next to OpenClaw or Hermes Agent. Its access ends on its next request.
  • Everything at once, turn off “Use AI features” in your account. That disconnects every AI app.
  • On your computer, openclaw mcp logout voke deletes OpenClaw’s stored sign-in (OpenClaw), and hermes mcp remove voke removes Voke from Hermes (Nous Research).

A connection lasts 90 days. After that, your agent asks you to approve it again on your phone.

Running a different agent? Any app that can add a remote MCP server works the same way. Ask for an invite and give your agent something real to work with.
